Pembroke Cultural Council Announces 2020 Grant Round

YEAR 2020 GRANT CYCLE OPENS

APPLICATIONS:  The application process is online. Applicants may access the online application beginning September 1 at www.mass-culture.org/. This is also where you will find any funding priorities or additional requirements beyond the state guidelines.

DEADLINE:  Applications must be submitted by OCT 15, 2019.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:  The Massachusetts Cultural Council provides funding to the Local Cultural Councils to support public programs that promote access, education, diversity and excellence in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences. Local councils have the right and responsibility to award grants that address cultural needs specific to their community.

CRITERIA:  The Pembroke Cultural Council uses the following criteria when awarding grants: community benefit, community involvement, quality of project, financial need of the sponsoring body, accomplishments of the sponsoring body and the dedication of the sponsoring body.

 

PEMBROKE’S ALLOCATION:  $7900.

 

CULTURAL COUNCIL MEMBERS:  Laura DaSilva, Kyle Harney, Eugenie King, Linda McCollum and Martha Scott.

 

2019 GRANT RECIPIENTS: Friends of Pembroke Public Library for Museum Passes, the Pembroke Arts Festival, Stephen Lewis poster display at the Pembroke Public Library, John Root performance for the COA, the Pembroke Association for Performing Arts and Doug Lowry for a Mass Audubon program.
